Department Says Crime Was Committed Off-Duty

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. —

A police officer in Altamonte Springs is under investigation for a crime his department said he committed off-duty.

Altamonte Springs Chief of Police, Robert C. Merchant, Jr., told WESH 2 News that one of his officers is under a criminal investigation.

Merchant would not reveal the nature of the investigation and has not named the officer.
